FIO teacher will participate in a National Science Plan

The professor of the Faculty of Engineering of the UNICEN and researcher of the CONICET, doctor Bettina Bravo, was invited to integrate an Advisory Council that will accompany the implementation of the National Plan of Science and Technology in the School, an initiative that seeks to strengthen the scientific presence in the initial, primary and secondary levels.

The invitation came from the renowned doctor in biological sciences and with extensive experience in the dissemination of science, Diego Golombek, current director of the National Institute of Technological Education (INET), belonging to the Ministry of Education of the Nation.

This plan It was presented days ago between the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Roberto Salvarezza; his peer from Education, Nicolás Trotta; the president of CONICET, Ana María Franchi; the Secretary of Education, Marisa Díaz; and Golombek himself. In general terms, the proposal will activate the generation of content, teacher training, new curricular spaces and didactic equipment.

In this context, Golombek told Bettina Bravo that from this Plan “we want to continue with some of the actions that have proven to have an impact, and also propose new ones that allow us to improve the teaching of Science and Technology, and reduce the enormous inequalities that we find on this issue in the country ”.

The invitation represents a great emotion for Bettina, who is excited to be able to participate in the discussions that take place at that level, and more with a plan that, according to her words, “I share one hundred percent, especially because of its essence, its objectives. broader that imply trying to favor the scientific and technological literacy of all children and young people, recognizing it as a right that must be guaranteed with the contribution of different social spaces, including the university ”.

Scientific expertise

Bettina is part of a group of engineering teachers who have already implemented different didactic innovation and scientific dissemination projects, designed for the modern classroom.

One of these is called “IPACT: Curricular Innovation for Scientific-Technological Literacy”. With national distinctions, this project seeks to strengthen the teaching of physics, mathematics and new technologies at pre-university educational levels. In addition to promoting an innovative learning experience for children and young people, it aims to favor the scientific, technological and didactic training of teachers at this level.

Dr. Bravo also participates in the scientific dissemination project known as “Eureka Juegos Conectados”, which exhibits its own distinctions at the provincial level. Based on a multidisciplinary work at the FIO, Eureka’s idea came to fruition with the installation of the first scientific plaza in Olavarría, located next to the Science Museum. There, hammocks, slides, seesaws and carousels invite you to learn about physics, mathematics, chemistry and technology in an informal way and playing.

All these initiatives, and that of the National Plan that is underway, stimulate early and continuous training in science and technology, which translates into citizens capable of thinking about the world with scientific eyes, understanding its phenomena, encouraging inclusion and equality. of opportunities.
