New system Telescopes Captured by Green Bank Laboratory in West Virginia (United States) Photography High resolution Luna Taken from the earth.
The project was recorded using radar technology and thanks to many years of work, according to project officials.
Photo shows 200 x 175 km area of 1.4 billion pixels and the southern plains of the natural satellite Land.
In the picture you can see the Tycho abyss which is considered to be one of the brightest on the moon. It is one of the most studied by various missions sent into space. It is 85 km in diameter and 4,400 m deep at its lowest point.
For its part, Green Bank is the world’s largest stereo radio telescope, with a collection area of 100 meters in diameter.
“This is the largest artificial aperture radar image we have ever created,” explains Tony Beasley, director of the American National Radio Astronomical Observatory (NRAO).
“Although much work needs to be done to improve the quality of the images, we are happy to show this to the public so we can show more in the future.
According to scientists, the possibility of taking high-resolution photographs from Earth will allow us to explore which locations on the moon are optimal for future space travel.
With this technique, even more distant moons and planets can be explored with unprecedented amounts of detail.
