Mexican wins gold at the Engineering, Science and Technology Festival in Africa

Carla Michele Sanchez Gragales won the gold medal for Mexico at I-FEST 2022 with the project “Funitix – The Fun of Augmenting Activity”, at the Engineering, Science and Technology Festival held in Tunisia, Africa, which brought together participants from more than 40 countries.

The festival lasted nine days and was organized by the Tunisian Association for the Future of Science and Technology ATAST, and is open to all students between the ages of 14 and 24. The program included new activities and discoveries from young people from all over the world. This festival started as a small school club and became an official scientific association.

Karla got her start at the age of 10 by creating “Suit Cookies,” a product designed for people with health issues, without sugar. In 2018, he received international accreditation to represent Mexico at the Northeast Science and Technology Fair 2018 in Pernambuco, Brazil, where his project was most visited and praised. In 2019, he was awarded 1st place, Junior category and accreditation for ESI 2019, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
