“El Picazuelo” expands the rehabilitation facilities and improves the space for the laundry service

The day center “El Picazuelo” will have new and improved facilities next year to support the care of people with disabilities, actions that Mayor Sergio García Navas has visited these days, together with Social Welfare Adviser Conchi Rodríguez-Palancas and Director of the Center, Lula Diaz Pavon.

During the visit, the importance of these improvements that will allow to provide a more personalized service was highlighted, namely that the new dependencies will allow them to develop their daily lives in a more comfortable way, as well as solve space problems that will provide greater comfort for workers and users of the center.

On the other hand, a new multisensory classroom is being built to implement therapies that expand and enhance social and cognitive skills. In addition to a space dedicated to physiotherapy to receive treatments that improve movement together with the specialists involved in its development, who from now on will be able to provide individual attention.

Another measure that is being implemented is the creation of a larger laundry room that will increase the services provided by the center to clubs and companies, as a result of which all their requests are perfectly met.

The total amount of these works, as explained by Municipal Architect Adoración Gallego, also on the visit, is €27,890 co-financed in collaboration with local entities in charge of the recovery and resilience mechanism for the next generation of European Union funds.
