This Saturday night, September 17, the Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics face off in the third game of a four-game series at Minute Maid Park.

Cubans Yordon Alvarez and Aledmis Díaz started for the local side. Las Dunas’ player was assigned in the third shift, while Díaz was second in the lineup and left fielder.

Alvarez hit his second straight game. Last Friday night he posted three for the second time in his career. This time it was against left-handed reliever AJ Book’s 88.4 mph slider. The ball traveled 380 feet into right field and exited at 106.3 MPH. At that point he approached his team at 5 for seven on the scoreboard as there were basically no runners on.

Now Jordan has five homers in his last four games, the most of his career. The franchise record for four games is held by Glenn Davis with six. Also, a streak of eight winning streaks is high in the campaign.

He hit 37 on the season and tied for 3rd in all of the major leagues behind Aaron Judge (57) and Kyle Schwarber (39). He is 98 for a lifetime, two away from becoming the 17th Cuban in history to become hundreds.
