Specifically, he referred to the project in which the Research Team on Genetics and Environment in Psychiatry of the Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili and the University Hospital of the Pere Mata Institute, which he met at the San Juan University Hospital of Rios, is working. .
This research group is developing a clinical protocol for advances in the diagnosis of mental illnesses such as autism, bipolar disorders or schizophrenia and has received 1.7 million euros from the Ministry of Science and Innovation through PERTE for Vanguard HealthIt is a strategic project for economic recovery and transformation with more than 1,600 million euros of public investment.
“Mental illnesses are usually very invisible due to social stigma, but we also need to do research on these illnesses. We want European money from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan to go to specific projects like this to improve people’s health,” he said. The minister reassured.
Morant also met with researchers from the Institut d’Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili, who work on projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation or hired through the Ministry’s Miguel Servet and Ramón y Cajal programmes.
