Egypt will open its airspace to Qatari aircraft

Al-Arabiya sources said on Tuesday that it would open Egyptian airspace to Qatari planes similar to Saudi Arabia.

The sources said that Cairo had agreed in principle to return to air traffic with Doha, emphasizing that the implementation of this decision would depend on a number of Egyptian demands.

Al-Arabiya sources said an Egyptian group was assessing the situation and paving the way for contacts with Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Bahrain.

It comes shortly before the start Work on the 41st Summit of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in Al-UlaToday, Tuesday, at the invitation of the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

It is expected to attend mainly with the Gulf Cooperation, regional and international strategic partnership, files on the Iranian file and its nuclear program and other files.

Qatar Spokesman Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad will chair his country’s delegation to the summit, the Qatar News Agency reported. Also announced by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Sabah on Monday Reaching an agreement to open borders and airspace between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The Kuwaiti official added that all parties stressed the need for unity, reunification and word gathering.
