Several Afghan Supreme Court judges were shot dead in Kabul on Sunday, Afghan officials officially announced as the capital was devastated by several months of targeted attacks, AFP and DPA reports.

“Unfortunately, we lost two judges in today’s attack and their driver was injured,” Supreme Court spokesman Ahmed Bahim Qawim confirmed.

“Armed men attacked their car,” he said, adding that the two women were on their way to work at the time of the murder when they were attacked around 8:30 a.m. local time. The attack took place in the center of the capital.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
