Ana Maria Arias, an actress who rose to prominence on television in the 1980s and made a comeback in cinema in recent years, died early Monday. He is 71 years old and four days away from turning 72.
“Rest in peace my dear friend. So sad to find out you’re gone. In heaven they’re having a feast today with your happiness. We’ll miss you Ana, we’ll miss you so much,” actor and film director Frank Peroso posted Monday morning.
Jumaya Cordero, representative of Caribbean Cinemas, lamented Arias’ departure: “From the news no one wants to hear. Our Ana Maria has left us. I will always remember her with the energy, joy and professionalism she gave us. In every film.”
Although there are no details about the reasons, the veteran actress was admitted to the medical center last Saturday due to health issues.
Between 1983 and 1987, Ana Maria Arias made her television debut with “How Much Show Worth” hosted by Johnny Ventura.
He also participated in “La Alegría del País” and “Nosotros a las 8”. In the latter, her debut on television was recorded opposite her protagonist Cooke’s Victoria.
In recent years, she has received positive reviews for her performances in films. Iris also won the 2018 Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Award for her role in the Frank Peroso-directed movie “Colau”.
He also appeared in local films like “Dirty Work”, “The Projectionist”, “The Ghost of My Girlfriend”, “What a Lion”, “Miriam Lies”, “The Worst Comedian”.
His most recent are “The Wonder” and “The Year of the Tiger” and he can currently be seen in theaters in the comedy “Bad Parents”.
Ana Maria was born on August 25, 1951. He will be 72 in four days.
