You cannot get closer than 200 meters to Jenny Hermoso

(CNN) — After appearing in the National Court this Friday morning, Judge Francisco de Jorge approved a restraining order against Luis Rubiales preventing him from coming within 200 meters of Jennifer Hermoso or contacting her during the judicial hearing.

According to a statement issued by the press office of the National Court, Judge Francisco de Jorge rejected the lawyer’s request to appear in court twice a month for the duration of the trial process.

According to the same report, the judge also rejected a request by Hermoso’s lawyer, Carla Valls, for an early seizure of the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation’s assets.

Luis Rubiales testified in Madrid’s National Court this Friday as a defendant in an open trial after he kissed Spanish soccer player Jennifer Hermoso at the Women’s World Cup final in Australia.

Rubiales testified to the Spanish prosecutor’s office, answered questions from the judge and all parties and denied the charges.

Prosecutors asked the judge that Rubiales must appear in court twice a month, stay at least 500 meters away from Jennifer Hermoso and not try to contact her in any way during the hearing.

Rubiales entered the courtroom with his lawyer, Olga Duba, and did not comment to the media.

Earlier this week, the Spanish National Court announced that it had agreed to process a complaint filed by the Spanish Prosecutor’s Office against Rubiales for the crimes of sexual assault and coercion.

Rubiales testified and answered questions from the judge and all parties and denied the charges, the Spanish prosecutor’s office said.

“The kiss was not consensual,” Hermozo’s lawyer confirmed

The soccer player’s lawyer, Carla Wall, reiterated to journalists at the door of the national court that the kiss of the former president of the confederation during the World Cup was not consensual.

“Everybody can see that it’s not a consensus, and we’ll prove that,” Wall said at the end of the hearing.

Hermoso’s lawyer told reporters that he had asked the judge for precautionary measures for his client, saying it was “the beginning” of the trial in the courts.

He announced his resignation last Sunday after a public backlash over his unwanted kiss on Spain forward Jennifer Hermoso after Spain’s win at the Women’s World Cup.

“At 9:30 tonight, I sent my resignation as president of the RFEF to the acting president, Mr. Pedro Rocha. I informed him that I also resigned from my position at UEFA. My position as vice-president must be covered,” Rubiales said in a release on X. Formerly Twitter.

“Insisting on waiting and sticking to it is not going to contribute anything positive to the confederation or to Spanish football, among other things, because there are practical forces preventing my return,” Rubiales added.

He added that his family had suffered “excessive persecution and the consequences of many lies, but it is also true that on the street, every day, the truth prevails.”
