Bitcoin's creator disappeared 13 years ago: his account just received a $1 million transfer

In December 2010, Satoshi Nakamoto decided to disappear. The anonymous Bitcoin creator has stopped running his wallet. Since then we haven't heard anything from him and his pseudonym has become something of a legend in the cryptocurrency sector. But 2024 begins with a change. 13 years later, Satoshi Nakamoto's wallet is back in business.

Genesis received money back. It is the name of the first wallet created on the Bitcoin network. The account belongs to Nakamoto, whose identity remains unknown to this day.

On January 5, at 07.52 AM CET, Satoshi's account woke up with a transfer of approximately 27 BTC. Specifically 26,917 Bitcoin, equivalent to about $1.17 million. After more than a decade of inactivity, the original Bitcoin account has seen significant movement once again.

Either it's Satoshi or someone wants attention. Conor Grogan, director of Coinbase, sums it up well: “Either Satoshi woke up and bought 27 bitcoins from Binance and deposited them in his wallet, or someone just burned $1 million.” This large-scale movement has a few possible explanations. Either it is Satoshi himself who wants to deposit more money into his account or it is someone who wanted to attract attention and gave more than $1 million to the original creator of the cryptocurrency.
