The comprehensive bill being discussed in Congress generates talks between representatives of the national government and governors who seek to unite in the regions to have more weight when presenting various proposals.
The main concern is the return to the changes in earnings promised by President Javier Milley, despite the demands of the governors, through regional legislators, to support the Omnibus Law and the DNU.
The nine governors of the “Together for Change” organization, including Gustavo Valdes, in addition to the Prime Minister of Buenos Aires, constitute the new nucleus of opposition power.
On Friday, a meeting was held for this political space with the Ministers of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, and the Ministers of the Economy, Luis “Toto” Caputo. The leaders expressed their requests for changes in the projects and made clear to the nation the need to obtain support in Congress.
But the Conservatives also seek to have more weight when making certain proposals, which is why they aim for regional consolidation.
The governor of Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pollaro, encourages the creation of the coastal zone. And so, last week, he met with Inter Rios Governor Frigerio; Gustavo Valdes from Corrientes; Chaco compatriot Leandro Zedro, missionary Hugo Passalacqua, Gildo Ensafran Formosan and Pollaro himself.
Passalacqua described the meeting as productive because “it is important to govern by searching for common ground in difficult times and putting issues of common interest to our region on the table.” The missionary governor himself confirmed on his social network X the presence of those present at the meeting.
Radicalism, Together for Change, Peronism and a regional party are represented in the space.
The Central and Patagonian regions, among others, have also joined together to make common demands and prevent national measures from affecting regional economies.
