Otto Porter Jr. is retiring after 11 seasons in the NBA with six teams

Otto Porter Jr., who won an NBA title with the Warriors in 2022 and averaged 10.3 points and 4.9 rebounds over 11 seasons, announced his retirement from the NBA.

“Over the past 11 years, I've had the opportunity to live my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA,” he said. Porter, who will win a title in 2022 with the Golden State Warriors. “That dream was crowned by winning an NBA championship! Unfortunately, my body didn't allow me to play at the level I hoped for, and that's why I decided to retire.”

Porter, 30, has never played for the Jazz after averaging 2.6 points with 1.9 rebounds in 15 games for the Toronto Raptors this season. He was included in the Feb. 8 trade for Kira Lewis Jr. and a first-round pick that sent Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Akbaji to the Raptors.

The third overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft also played for the Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls and Orlando Magic throughout his career, averaging 10.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in 527 games (319 starts).
