On June 15, 2021, detectives from the investigative police of Mexico City's Attorney General's Office arrested Mexican actor Hector Barra at his home.

From the first moment, Daniela Barra, his eldest daughter and Alexa's half-sister, defended her father's innocence and remained by his side to this day, involved in legal proceedings with him, and accused Ginny Hoffman of manipulating Alexa.

Thus, the legal process against Hector Parra is shown A complete division between the two sisters Who, currently, has no relationship.

“We had a completely sisterly relationship, we studied at the same school, we gave each other clothes (…) The three of us stuck like glue everywhere, everything was going well,” Daniela recalled a few months ago. Interview with Mara Patricia Castaneda.

Daniela recalls the happy relationship between the divorced father and his two daughters. But Alexa tells a different story.

In 2020 he gave an interview TV tips In it she confides that her father touched her, “in ways that a father wouldn't. I couldn't face him because his reactions scared me. Things had to be his way, because if he didn't get upset, he would get angry and scream.”

According to Daniela, despite the ups and downs in her relationship with her younger sister, they remained close until Alexa launched her first accusations against her father in the media, which took her completely by surprise.

At that time, Daniela lived with him, and although she knew that the relationship between them was broken, she never imagined what would happen next.

“She stopped talking to our father and kept talking to me, and I told her to tell, and she told me 'I'm not going to tell' (…) From one day to the next, the magazine comes. Outside, I'm texting her, and I'm like, 'Hey, what's up?'

“Hey, I live with him, tell me what's going on, why are you saying this.” She stopped me saying 'You don't understand'. And so far I have not received any response.

Any ruling for or against the legal process led by her father inevitably deepened the rift between the two.

The case has polarized the press and entertainment world, and public opinion has been divided between those who believe Alexa's statement and show their full support, and those who see in Daniela an example of courage and love for a father she claims is innocent.

Although Alexa has the unconditional support of her mother – whom Barra has always accused of manipulating her – Daniela not only serves as a kind of spokesperson for her father, but also goes on television selling tumblers to fund legal proceedings.

This week, Hector Parra was sentenced to 13 years and 10 months in prison, but the legal process is far from over.

The reactions of the two sisters to this new sentence – in the previous instance, Parra had received a ten-and-a-half-year sentence – show irreparable disfigurement.

“Today I got a justice. I thank everyone who has been with me in this process, who provided invaluable support when I thought I couldn't take it anymore. The road is still long, but we are making steady progress. Truth will always prevail,” said Alexa.

For her part, Daniela assured, “This was a completely fraudulent investigation from the beginning.”

Some of the photos approved by Hoffman even appeared on a TV show (others were later leaked), in which Barra is seen living with her daughters when they were young. Once again, public opinion and the press were sharply divided between those who saw clear evidence of guilt and those who saw nothing more than a father living with his daughters.

For now, Daniela and the actor's side have announced that they will be filing the Amparo as the next step in a process that shows no sign of ending. Whatever the outcome, any judicial decision will further fracture the relationship between the two once inseparable sisters.
