More space, more versatility: this is the five-door Mini Cooper

At 4.03 mm long, 1.74 wide and 1.46 high, the new five-door Cooper has dimensions that are almost identical to its predecessor, and underscores the core concept of every Mini: maximizing Space possible in a small space. This results in an interior space that provides enough room for Five passengers with plenty of comfort and space. Even the 60:40 folding rear seats increase the luggage capacity from 275 liters to 925 litres.

The larger version of the pure Mini Cooper also delivers the brand's signature driving pleasure and agile handling. You have a choice of two efficient petrol engines, combined with a modern chassis and precise steering, providing the go-kart feel of the Mini.

The three-cylinder gasoline engine of the Cooper C 5-door generates 156 hp. The Cooper S 5-door has a 204-hp four-cylinder gasoline engine. The MINI's excellent steering system and powerful brakes ensure a high level of driving pleasure, safety and comfort. Compact dimensions, short overhangs and a small turning circle of 11.4 meters make the five-door Cooper a versatile city model.

The new Cooper is characterized by “attractive simplicity.” Short overhangs, small hood, long wheelbase and big wheels: the five-door Cooper's proportions reflect its urban character. The model is easy and convenient to maneuver even in small spaces. The new generation also features Mini's iconic round headlights and standard LED headlights with individually adjustable daytime running light elements to enhance its striking appearance.

The flowing design of the taillights gives a modern, clean look to the car's rear sculpture. It is divided into an eye-catching black strip bearing the model's distinctive letters. Its horizontal alignment highlights the wide appearance of the new Cooper.

The interior of the new Cooper 5-door also presents a typical mix of new elements, technical innovations and references to the brand's history. Legendary inventor Alec Issigonis designed the first model's interior with a round dashboard in the middle and a distinctive swinging button strip at the bottom. Behind the steering wheel, the optional Slim Head-Up Display ensures that all relevant content is in the driver's field of vision. As a result, the driver's side dashboard does not need an additional instrument panel, thus expanding the driver's vision.

As with the round gauges of the previous model, the new central icon with its various functions is the main visual point of the interior. The central OLED display on the redesigned dashboard is moved closer to the driver, making it easier to see. High resolution sets a new standard. Thanks to the MINI Operating System 9, all vehicle functions can be controlled intuitively using the touch screen or voice.

As with the famous center console, the switch bar with its switches is as legendary as MINI itself, yet it has been carefully updated time and time again. In the latest version, the parking brake, gear selector, start/stop button, trial modes and volume control are all easily accessible. Practical benefit: Removing the gear selector freed up more space in the center console, which now includes a large open storage compartment as well as cup holders. Smartphones can be charged in the wireless charging area located on the front of the console and are always within easy reach.
