Puebla will become a data science center

Puebla will become a data science hub due to the enrollment and researchers clustering in the state.

This was stated by Eugenio Yaris, Independent Consultant, after announcing that the Authority will host the second National Data Science Meeting. It will be held in Autonomous Popular University of Puebla State (Ubayeb).

During his speech, Eugenio Yares highlighted that today's Puebla entity is not a power in this matter. However, Puebla will become a data science hub within an approximate period of three or four years.

This is because there will be approximately a thousand data science graduates distributed between undergraduate and graduate degrees. This will allow us to train and prepare the population to transform the state of Puebla into a strategic center.

In this sense, he highlighted the holding of the second meeting, which will be held on November 7 and 8 at the Obaip Call Center. About 450 students from various educational institutions are expected to participate.

Jorge Serna, Deputy Director of Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at the Autonomous University of Benmerita in Puebla (BUAP), noted that students will be able to present their projects. There will be three prizes:

  • To distinguish the data
  • To innovation and high impact
  • For emerging talents in data science.

Universities and business organizations such as CanaCintra and Coparmix, as well as teachers and researchers, will cooperate in the meeting. The goal is to generate productive occupations in the center of the country.

Among the activities that will be carried out at this event are key conferences, panel discussions and round tables.
