ERCOT asks residents and businesses to conserve energy due to a potential shortage of electricity generation

This is news under development

The agency that controls the state’s electricity grid asked its customers, on Tuesday afternoon, to conserve energy. He explained that the power outages are not expected, but they may enter into emergency circumstances due to “high demand than usual,” in addition to the normal interruption of other generators.

The request comes nearly three months after Texas suffered a historic freeze in February when millions of clients were without power and more than 100 people died, leading to new legislation, executive resignations and lawsuits.

Temperatures across Texas on Tuesday were in line with the 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit season when the Texas Electrical Reliability Board (ERCOT) issued the order. It appears that many generation sources (natural gas, nuclear power and coal) have been out of service due to maintenance.
