A space for Panamanian writers and poetry

About 70 national writers and 12 poets will participate on June 29 in the Panamanian Writers and Poetry Festival in the city, from 12 noon to 10 p.m.

With the aim of creating spaces to promote literature and save poetry, the sixth edition of the Panamanian Writers and Poetry Festival will be held in the city.

Under the slogan “Where letters find a place to flourish,” the event will host the Panamanian writer and 70 national writers, and will take place in the City of Arts, at the gallery, from 12:00 noon to 10:00 am. Morning and evening, with free entry.

The event will take place on June 29 and will be attended by writers such as Carlos Fong, Brecida Bloys, Linda Astwood, Carolyn Acosta, Jenny Haskins, Raisa Calderon de Real, Mary Gomez, Lisette García, Rene Morales, Marita Salamin C, and others. .

The program of activities includes spaces for promoting and selling books, seminars, artistic performances, and poetry evenings.

Linda Astwood, President of Independent Writers of Panama (INPA), commented that there will be some talks such as “Literary Promotion, Today” and “The Legacy of Panamanian Women’s Letters,” and in addition, there will be a musical space for Carolyn Acosta (opening) and Carlos Shedden (in rest).

He explained that from 12 noon until 6 p.m. the Literary Day will be held, and then, until 10 p.m., “Verses in the City” and a poetry recitation will be held with the participation of 12 poets on stage and guest artists. .

The city's Panamanian Writer and Verse Festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) in collaboration with Independent Writers of Panama, Poetic Panama, Fusion Cultural Panama, and the United Writers Association.
