With the aim of reducing maternal and fetal mortality and providing the tools for a healthy pregnancy, Mayor Miriam Soto has opened a space called “In the Mother’s Womb”, in the Basic Rehabilitation Unit (UBR), aimed at pregnant women who will receive free comprehensive care; Meoqui being the leading municipality in the state.
The first space of the program “In the womb of the mother”, will be in charge of the Municipal Health Directorate in charge of Dr. Manuel Castillo, referring to Mayor Miriam Soto: “This is a total commandment project, we are the only municipality that will provide free medical care for pregnant women, with psychological and nutritional follow-up, This will allow us to save lives.”
On the other hand, Dr. Thomas Aguirre, responsible for the Delicias Health Network, shared: “It is one of the first places, I am originally from another state and I think it can be said that they are pioneers at the national level in taking the first step, focusing on a more complete and comprehensive program to address the problem Maternal deaths.
Likewise, Marcela Mata, President of the College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Dr. Jesús Cristo Hernandez, President of the College of Physicians, supported and recognized the mayor’s initiative by implementing this space as a first statewide.
In turn, Architect Miriam Soto expressed: “We have put health as a priority, we want to have a healthy society and we have decided to do what is in our hands as a municipal government. I appreciate the support of Health Judiciary No. 1, the College of Physicians and the College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.”
Also present at the ceremony were Dr. Manuel Castillo, Director of Municipal Health, Norilia Hernandez, President of the Municipal DIF, and María del Refugio Silva, Director of the Municipal Institute for Women’s Welfare.
