A young Venezuelan woman's face was burned and molested by colleagues in Peru

A Venezuelan student He faces a nightmare after being the victim of a brutal act at his school. At just 15 years old, the young woman suffered burns to 40% of her face, leaving her with physical and emotional effects.

According to the victim's mother, the torture started months ago, in December 2023 to be exact, when her daughter was the object of bullying by a group of classmates. The situation reached a critical point when the girl was physically assaulted and burnt on three separate occasions while in the institution's facilities.

The shocked mother reports that despite alerting the school authorities since the first incident, there was no adequate response or concrete steps taken to protect her daughter. Even after informing the school principal and the relevant authorities, the situation did not improve and the alleged attackers are absconding without facing the consequences of their actions.

The case has been brought to the attention of the Local Education Management Unit (UGEL), however, the response so far has been insufficient. The mother laments that despite the seriousness of the situation, the minor feels abandoned and depressed, refuses to leave his room and avoids contact with others.
