Abinader postponed his US trip on Tuesday due to the impact of Cyclone Fiona

President because of the path of Cyclone Fiona which will affect the country in the next few hours Louis Abinader decided to postpone his trip to the United States to participate in the United Nations (UN).

So far, the head of state is expected to fly to the North American country on Tuesday.

Presidential Administration Minister Jose Ignacio Palisa announced this Sunday during a press conference at the National Center of Emergencies (COE), where he participated in the update of the weather report on the passage of the category one Fiona hurricane.

“I can confirm that the President has decided to postpone his visit until Tuesday; We are going to wait for the storm to pass through the forecast track and learn about the facts that may arise in the country,” he said.

Although the official did not specify the time of the President’s flight on Tuesday, he said the decision was taken on a conscientious basis considering the presence of the typhoon and its effects in the coming hours.

It is important for the head of state to follow the effects of the hurricane, but also to maintain the agenda he set at the United Nations (UN), because this is a scenario that the Dominican Republic cannot afford to waste. And they hope the storm’s impact won’t severely affect the national landscape.
