President Luis Abinador instructed the General Directorate of National Properties to carry out the first national census of real estate in the Dominican State, the main objective of which is the inventory and evaluation of all state real estate.
The project, which will run from July 3 to 21, will allow for a comprehensive and reliable record of the country’s real estate capital, which has not been accurately calculated to date, the Office of the President said.
“The result of this census will provide a clear and complete picture of the real estate assets of the state, including: Central government properties and buildings, buildings of decentralized agencies, major infrastructure like roads, hydraulics and electricity, mixed companies with the state, mixed real estate shares with the state, state-owned Mining properties and land owned by the Dominican government,” read part of the report.
The government indicated that an implementation plan has been drawn up for this project, which includes the implementation of specialized technology for storing, monitoring and controlling the information obtained.
This project management system allows efficient and continuous data management.
Census in three phases
The census will be conducted in three main phases: The first phase will collect information from all state properties.
The second will be a physical census of real estate in the Dominican State, which will confirm and complement the information gathered in the first phase. Finally, the census results will be presented.
“In the future, it is expected that this census will help to create regulations to ensure the automation of the system. In this way, all assets acquired by the Dominican State will be recorded monthly in real time, as well as assets that leave the state system,” the aforementioned document points out.
