MIAMI, Florida – Puerto Rican host and actress Adamari Lopez will leave Telemundo after 11 years, the Telemundo Network confirmed Thursday.
“After 11 years with Telemundo, Telemundo and Adamari Lopez have mutually decided that the time is right for her to step down as host of Hoi Thia,” the statement read.
“Adamari has been a staple of Telemundo’s mornings for more than a decade, helping Hispanics start their day with her charming and energetic personality. Adamari is a talented, versatile TV host who has appeared in many specials and shows on the network. Always with her charisma, authenticity and charm. connects with and serves our audience,” Telemundo Network added.
With a long career in film and television, Adamari began her career at the age of 6 and has appeared in 15 soap operas and eight films in Mexico and the United States.
In 2012, Adamari joined the team of Telemundo’s morning news and variety shows, currently under the name “Hoi Tia”.
She was married to singer Luis Fonsi from 2006 to 2009. In 2015, Adamari had daughter Alaya with her then-partner, dancer Tony Costa, from whom she split in 2021.
The actress announced her diagnosis of breast cancer in 2005, and a year later, after successful surgery, Atamari claimed victory in her battle against the disease in 2006.
