Aida Cuevas refused to participate in the tribute to Juan Gabriel

City of Juarez.- Singer Aída Cuevas announced through her social networks that she will not attend the concert scheduled for August 25 at Plaza de la Mexicanidad at 8 p.m., according to the cultural billboard.

“I regret to announce that I will not be attending the sixth anniversary and tribute events of our beloved Alberto Aguilera Valadez,” he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page.

He explained, “I was kindly invited by the management of the mayor’s office of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, weeks ago and till date in the advertisement they continue to mention that I will be part of the lead and star cast. I have not received any news regarding the above invitation and to date, confirmation or logistics, unfortunately due to timing and I promise that I will not participate due to responsibilities.

“The honorable mayor, Mr. Cruz Perez Cuellar, has been attentive at all times, however, the American company that now manages the rights of Juan Gabriel does not have optimal coordination and therefore does not lend itself to any explanation. I inform you that there is no compliance on my part,” he wrote in the document.

There, he thanked the Aguilera Salas family for their consideration and pointed out that not being part of this edition in person would not prevent them from commemorating the statue together.

The municipality’s page continues so far with the publication of the program of events that ends on August 28.
