CARTAGENA. The new gastronomic offer of Alfonso Torres, owner of excursions, will become a reality in the coming months. Parallel to the beginning of the works of the Plaza Mayor project, which this week have been launched, the Torres architects visited the new commercial premises of the Port of Cartagena to give the last indications before the different trades get fully involved in works.
As the businessman himself has explained on more than one occasion, the project Alviento -in which nearly four million euros will be invested- It will be divided into different premises, both on the ground floor and on the first floor of the building. Thus, below it will be launched, together with Estrella de Levante, a brewery, which would be in charge of setting up Estrella de Levante, its partner in this new business venture. There will also be a place for celebrations, events, disco and live music.
For its part, a restaurant will be built on the first floor, serving local and regional cuisine. Torres remains uncertain as to who will be the renowned chef who will be in the kitchen.
Of course, the businessman himself explained weeks ago to Murcia Square that theirs will be “a revolutionary offer: with an advanced, modern venue that is very different from what has been seen in the city now. We will propose something very different from what has been seen so far in our city”
“We are going to reactivate the Port”, he explained without fear of being wrong, “we will attract local visitors and regional tourists, who are going to come to stroll along the sea and enjoy our project. It will be a real shock for Cartagena, for the Port and I would even say for the Region”.
The The concession will have a term of 30 years and an extension of 6 years, in accordance with the Law of Ports and the works are expected to take about 8 months to complete.. Around 80 people will work directly in one of the establishments that will start next September.
