Amazon has been in trouble since 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to reports from the US.
Amazon, the US e-commerce company and AWS with cloud computing services, saw a global decline from about 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to reports from hundreds of users collected across the network. Downdetector.
With this resounding collapse, Amazon has left delivery trucks idle with drivers unable to reach their tracks, destroying popular websites and banking apps that rely on the company’s cloud servers and affecting thousands of customers.
Amazon Music, Prime video, Alexa, Ring, and Amazon Web Services, which provide a number of services for online apps, started experiencing issues at 10:40 a.m.
With this fall, the company’s star services like sales through Amazon Prime are also failing, especially during the Christmas shopping season.
Amazon is down for most users, with only a few reports of problems with the app and others because they can’t pay for the purchases piled up in their carts. DownDetector, a site that monitors online outages, shows North America and parts of Europe and Asia are having problems, Mail Online noted.
When Amazon shut down, it took large swaths of the internet, including Alexa, Ring, Disney+, Tinder, Venmo and Prime Video, that were disrupted by a cloud server outage: Christmas shipments on Amazon are now expected to be delayed even more.
Amazon explanations
Amazon officials previously said they have identified the ‘root cause’ of the problem and are working to fix it. Amazon said the outage was likely due to issues with the Application Programming Interface (API), a set of protocols for building and integrating application software. “We are experiencing API and console issues in the Middle East region in the US,” Amazon said in a report on its service safety dashboard.
In a later update, the company stated that it was “starting to see some signs of recovery,” but it could not say when the service would be fully restored. “We do not have the estimated time to reach a full recovery at this time,” Amazon said. Amazon web services outage is much worse than others because it provides cloud computing services to individuals, universities, governments and businesses all over the world.
Amazon is down for at least 20,000 US users.
The outage affected a wide range of service providers around the world, including iRobot, Chime, CashApp, CapitalOne, GoDaddy, Associated Press, Instacart Kindle and Roku. Some users have also reported issues with Disney+, but the app appears to be back online before 1pm in New York. Ring said she was aware of the problem and was working on it. “There is a significant Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage currently affecting our iRobot Home app,” iRobot said on its website. (I)
