He Manchester City face off this Saturday Chelsea FA Cup semi-final after going out on penalties against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
This will be the third game between City and Chelsea this season. In the previous two meetings, the two teams drew: 1-1 at the Etihad and a thrilling 4-4 at Stamford Bridge in what many consider the best matchup in the Premier League. In that match, Erling Holland was the main man by scoring a double century.
However, Holland will not be present for the FA Cup semi-final, with the Norwegian substituted for the match against Real Madrid due to muscle discomfort.
Why didn't Holland play against Chelsea?
Pep Guardiola takes a heavy blow and confirms in the press conference that Hollande is suffering from a muscle injury. “Kevin de Bruyne seems to be fine. I was very tired, that's normal after five months. Erling has some muscle,” said the Catalan coach. Hollande is expected to return to action next week.
Chelsea come into the semi-finals with high morale and will be looking to take advantage of Hollande's absence to attack the table and move closer to the FA Cup title.
