Champions Aceros de Monclova is backed by a base of Dominican players in the Mexican Baseball League (LMP), which includes Bartolo Cologne, Al Alburgerk, Eric Ibar and Francisco Pequeiro.
At one of the most expensive salaries in the LMP, US manager Pat Listach won the first ownership championship in 2019.
This 2021 Listach wants to give Monclova a two-time championship with Bartolome Cologne. The 47-year-old pitcher claims to be the most successful Latin American in 24 seasons, winning 21 seasons.
This year Golan is trying to show that his right arm has not rusted yet, and although he has not played professionally since 2018, he remains a reliable pitcher.
Albuquerque will be another of the list’s alternatives among pitchers. There have been 291 strikes in seven years for the San Pedro de Magoris Relief in Los Myores.
At 34, Albuquerque led Pulpane to the 2019 title, finishing second in 13 appearances, the second-place finisher.
Iber, 37, was key to the Steelers title in 2019. In 88 games, Bani has a 319 batting average with 10 home runs and 67 runs.
He spent 12 years in the Dominican Crossing Major, during which time he won the Golden Glove in 2011 and participated in the 2014 All-Star Games, driving an additional 473 runs, scoring 58 home runs and hitting 271.
Peguro, who has two seasons of experience in the Major Leagues, will live with his fourth season with Monclova, who averaged .380 in 2019 and helped to become champion with six home runs in the latter season, one of whom made the move to the final.
In addition to the Dominican site, Listach will have other players with a big poster in the Major League in 2021, namely American second baseman Addison Russell, winner of the 2016 World Series with the Chicago Cubs.
The handler also has a home run machine called Chris Carter. Last season, the 34-year-old California-born finished with 49 home runs.
Next Thursday, May 20, the Steelers will face the Sultans of Montreal in the 2021 campaign.
