The Spring-Summer Season of Visual Arts has opened. As in the upcoming fashion calendars, trends, colors and textures, fashion shows and champions are announced. For their development, the earnestness of the organizations and institutions that participate is strengthened and pushes them forward.

Pinta BAphoto and the 18th edition of the Buenos Aires Biennale of Architecture; It is impossible to avoid saying that they are already of legal age! In the case of the photography gallery, the name has been changed or better, one has been added which is Pinta. The Latin American Photography Exhibition with the longest history can be visited from September 21-25. On this occasion, as part of Pinta World, the exhibition returns with a face-to-face edition in a format that combines virtual and face-to-face shows. The technical meeting, dedicated to the promotion, dissemination and marketing of images, is being presented from this year as part of the Pinta Group World with EFG Wealt Managnent as main sponsor. BAphoto Pinta BAphoto became part of the consolidation of Pinta galleries and the expansion of Latin American art to the world. In this way, the purpose of the gallery is renewed to highlight and enhance the talents of emerging and standardized artists associated with the region through exhibitions organized by national and international galleries represented by Uruguay, Venezuela and the United States.

In this new edition, Pinta BAphoto 2022 welcomes its visitors to Casa Basavilbaso for the second year in a row: “Pinta BAphoto is the meeting place of the artistic community that brings together more than 100 photographers on a vast journey through the world of photography. In addition, the Veronica Santala Conversations Course, Wunderkammer, curated by Hilario Letras, Artes y Oficios, is a dedicated section of the gallery dedicated to heritage photography, and the video project, curated by Erin Gelfman and dedicated exclusively to images in the movement and an out-of-focus section (led by Barbara Golubeki ) a space with federal representation, which will showcase exhibitions emerging from the national art scene, among the many activities of those days.

The Architecture Biennale will be open and free for the first time. It will take place from September 28 to October 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Faina Arts Center in Puerto Madero and the themes for the Central Gallery and International Conference Program will be Inclusion, Integration, Sustainability, and the Transformation of Urban Centers.

Works on these topics will be presented through a fully digital exhibition. The proposal is technically supported installations by 50 invited architecture studios, along with 120 projects selected from an open call that has received an extraordinary number of applications. Each of them will participate in the Biennale Grand Prix, which will be awarded by a jury of international standing.

In addition, it will be networked with leading cultural institutions to create a platform for contemporary production and reflection based on interdisciplinary proposals, meetings in different venues, urban tours and dialogues between architecture, art and design. In this way, the event will have an expanded program that will include: Architecture and the Metaverse (Prow – P21); Art and the City (Buenos Aires Art Week); architecture and design (Amigos Bellas Artes); The city and its future heritage (Open House Buenos Aires).

As a (birthday) present this year, the Biennale is launching its historical archive in charge of the IDA (Research in Argentine Design), an institution dedicated to the restoration, preservation, dissemination and promotion of national design. Through the official website and social networks and during the development of the event, a part of this group that is under formation will be shared. The goal of creating this archive is to reconstruct history, including around the personality of Jorge Glosberg, the businessman in charge of the Modulor, curator and cultural director, who founded the CAyC (Art and Communication Center) at the end of the 1960s and the International Centre. Architecture Biennale as well as the presidency of the Argentine Society of Art Critics (1989-1993) and the Museum of Fine Arts (1994-2003).
