This festival is a sampling of the different ways in which literature can be enjoyed, from oral and written words; Poetry, narrative, fiction, nonfiction, speculative fable, documentary fiction, and critical writing with the aim of interrogating canons and discovering new practices.

The festival addresses different themes and sections, with a central space dedicated to conversations with international and national authors with a recognized track. Meetings are held with their readers and they share their latest work, which also sparks debates between generations and gives voice to new proposals.

The emergence of new science fiction is also addressed; Film literature and musical suggestions. Conversations between authors and artists from various disciplines are presented to enhance the connection of literature with other artistic practices.

As new, the Focus on Korea To discover writers who experiment and subvert genres and tackle gritty themes about contemporary reality within the framework of what has already been considered bubble South Korean culture. This version pays special attention to children and families by creating a new section called small festivalwith activities related to writing and reading targeting mainly boys and girls.

During the first edition of the festival, which took place in October 2021 and at each of the monthly events that supported continued programming through 2022, Matadero became the nerve center of literature in our city, with encounters with established creators and new voices from literature.
