During 2021 and despite the pandemic caused by Covid-19, the Science Caravans, which visit educational centers throughout the state from basic to upper secondary and higher levels, reached 26 municipalities, benefiting more than 19 1,500 inhabitants from different communities in the 4 regions that make up the State.
These caravans promoted by the Council of Science and Technology of the State of Durango (COCYTED), led by the General Director, Juliana Morales Castro, aim to promote the social appropriation of knowledge, the dissemination of science, technology and innovation in all sectors of society, under the program: Social Appropriation of Science, Technology and Innovation (ASCTI).
To carry out this program, COCYTED has a series of audiovisual materials and interactive, scientific and technological demonstrations, 3D printers, robotics and drone exhibitions, as well as physics experiments to understand topics of interest such as electricity, in a practical way for children and young people.
So they can understand in a scientific but simple way what happens in their day to day, with which they have achieved great acceptance by educational establishments. The program has several workshops and trainings for teachers and the general public.
