Celine Dion has canceled her international tour due to ill health

Canadian singer Celine Dion has canceled her Courage World Tour after suffering from Stiff Person Syndrome (SPR), a disease that affects the nervous system and causes muscle spasms.

This was announced by the 55-year-old artist in a statement on his social networks.

“I’m so sorry to let you down again. I’m working really hard to get my strength back, but even when you’re at 100% the tour is going to be tough,” Dion said.

“It’s not fair to you that I’m postponing shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s better to cancel everything until I’m ready to get back on stage. I’m not giving up… I want to let them know I’m looking forward to seeing them again!”

The winner of two Oscars and several Grammys continues to receive treatment for his illness, which prevents him from performing, the world has emerged from the pandemic, but, even as he works hard to recover, he is present. The remainder of his tour was well-prepared and unable to take the stage.

Had he not canceled the tour, his next scheduled concert was in Amsterdam on August 26, and the last one was scheduled to take place in London on April 22, 2024.

The report recalls that after taking a hiatus from touring in March 2020, Dion is set to shoot his first film “Love Again” in early 2021 alongside Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan. The singer was later diagnosed with SPR.

“Celine’s medical team continues to evaluate and treat her illness,” the note read.

“We hope that one day soon Celine will be able to visit every city in Europe and perform for her amazing fans, but now is not the time.”

Tickets for the 42 canceled concerts will be refunded to Dion’s fans at the point of sale where they were purchased.
