As WhatsApp is one of the most used apps in the world to send messages, make calls or send videos and photos, many are wondering if their cell phones will support the app from July.
Due to constant updates to the app, it is no longer compatible with some iOS and Android models.. There is a list of cell phones without WhatsApp from July 1, users can check that this is not their own case.
Which cell phones are compatible with WhatsApp?
As explained by the WhatsApp Help Center, some models are outdated and lack the ability to support security-related updates and new software changes.
Currently, the Meta app is compatible with the following devices:
- Phones with Android OS 5.0 and later versions.
- Phones with iOS 12 and later versions.
- Phones with KaiOS 2.5.0 and later versions including JioPhone and JioPhone 2 devices.
Before access to the application is denied, users who can no longer use the application will receive a notification to update the operating system. Reminders need to be heeded immediately, otherwise WhatsApp can no longer be used.
To update the operating system on Android, you need to open the cell phone settings or configuration, go to the “System” section and check if there is a software update.
To get the most recent version of iOS, you need to go to “Settings”, enter the “General” section, select “Software Update”, tap “Automatic Updates” and then activate “Download iOS Updates”.
