China reveals new images of the surface of Mars

New photos of the so-called Utopia Plain on Mars were captured this week by the Chinese Tianwen-1 module and the Jurong rover, according to China’s National Space Administration. China’s robotic mission landed on a neighboring planet on May 14.

“In the final stages of descent, the spacecraft did just as the spacecraft did, using Viking ships in 1976, the Phoenix in 2008 and Insight (from NASA) in 2018, i.e. descending rockets or retro-propellants. Surface. ”, Explained the Astronomical Society of the Caribbean (SAC).

The academy explained that in one of the pictures a white one was seen from a distance next to an object, and clarified that it was a parachute and a top shield, from which the ship was separated during descent.

The Robot cart Or Jurong Solar “Rover” is similar in spirit and opportunity. It analyzes the soil, with several cameras and some of its instruments, including a spectrometer and radar.

The spacecraft was launched from China on July 23, 2020 and landed between Perseverance, Viking-2 and Insight landings.

As the efforts of the then Soviet Union failed or were somewhat successful, China became the second country to successfully land on the surface of Mars in addition to the United States.

As Jurang joins NASA’s Curiosity and Perseverance rovers, there are now three (3) active rovers on the neighboring planet.
