Citizens defended themselves against attacks by Chavista sympathizers who came to terrorize the crowd. Workers and union members present at the scene said security officials were unable to control the situation.

The Labor Day march is a call to action to improve the working and economic conditions of workers.

In the demands, the leaders are demanding an urgent salary hike as inflation has hit citizens' pockets hard.

Additionally, they asked for a review of issues related to social security, overtime, working hours and benefits.
