Coca-Cola Foundation rescues public space: Parque Azteca – Local News, Police, about Mexico and the World | The Sun of Tijuana

Tijuana.- In collaboration with local authorities such as the Tijuana Municipal Sports Institute, Civil Society organizations such as the Placemaking Mexico Foundation, and the Alliance for Urban Recovery; Fundación Coca-Cola and Corporación del Fuerte supported the recovery of a multipurpose field, a plaza and bleachers in Playas de Tijuana.

This project is part of the economic and social recovery program rescuing public spaces, this time in the Playas de Tijuana subdivision: Parque Azteca, which many locals use to walk, play sports and rest.

The project consisted of painting 900m2 of floor with circles so that people learn to enjoy the public space at a healthy distance; A modular citizen forum was also installed so that small groups can live together without getting infected; 120 plants and 10 trees were planted to improve the environmental dimension of the space; as well as they recovered it from four sinks that had fallen into disuse, so that everyone can wash their hands frequently.

The objective of this intervention was to recover a public space so that people can live together at a healthy distance while exercising and doing outdoor activities, in addition to promoting citizen learning in the respectful use of public spaces.

Fundación Coca-Cola will continue, through these comprehensive projects, reaffirming its commitment to the comprehensive well-being of Baja California in order to promote positive change for the construction of a favorable tomorrow for Baja Californians.
