A long-awaited farewell to a megastar of the urban genre, Daddy Yankee, there’s a new status: the Puerto Rico Coliseum, confirmed Primera Hora evidence. The artiste is expected to make an announcement soon, with a deal already in place to have Goodbye on stage this coming December.
These are the November 2022 concerts that were canceled due to logistical issues, replacing the concerts originally announced for Hiram Bithorn Stadium on January 6, 7 and 8.
Aileen Pineiro, director of Empresas Municipales de San Juan, said the stadium will be closed next September for remodeling work, a process estimated to take a year. He also said that he had not received any invitation from Daddy Yankee’s crew to hold concerts there on Tuesday.
The voice behind such reggaeton hits as “Casolina,” “Rombe” and “Shaky Shakey,” who enjoys being an ambassador for the World Baseball Classic these days, fueled anticipation for the announcement of new dates since last month. At the end of the “La ultima vuelta” tour, he injured his knee.
“Good day to all my followers who have become my family. Now my knee will be ready💪🏾, and we will have a great closing party of the tour in my island, Puerto Rico, with everyone who has followed me over the years. slope #Horealtia”, he posted on his networks four weeks ago.
While the concerts at Hiram Bithorn Stadium were not canceled, Daddy Yankee told this newspaper that during his last shows in Chile, his farewell in Puerto Rico was specially designed for his companions and those traveling to watch. He is on the island.
“In Puerto Rico we are bringing something different, something new, another new idea”He then commented.
Last December, Wisin & Yandel performed 14 shows at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, marking their farewell as a couple. This landmark venue was opened for the first time on December 31 to host a show.
