Danilo Medina: “I know how to lose, I know how to win”

“You have to know how to lose,” promised Danilo Medina, the former president of the republic, referring to a public consultation to be held on October 16 by the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).

During an interview with the radio program Sol de la Manana, the leader of the PLD promised that “I know how to lose” and described himself as a “democrat”. His turn has come.

Regarding this, he said, I handed over the presidency to Hipolito Mejia and the presidential nomination to Lionel Fernandez.

“I am a total democrat. I handed over the presidency to President Hipolito Mejia. I accepted defeat. Dr. “I accepted the primaries of Lionel Fernandez without losing and without losing. I took it back a little but accepted my defeat”, he revealed.

On the latter, he said, “I have neither left the party nor started speaking ill of my party. So I know how to lose, I know how to win, if you win you win, when you lose you lose, that’s what everyone should understand.

General advice

Regarding his message for the presidential candidacy with the PLD, Medina pointed out that “people are used to going to contests, winning and losing,” but they should accept when they lose.

“Here you lose, you win, and what’s more, there are always more losers than winners. Next Sunday there will be only one winner or winners and five losers. Our challenge is to get our colleagues who have not benefited to accept the result in a good way,” he said.

On the other hand, he recalled that this was the first time the PLD presented a presidential candidate in this process: “We are going to present a new product for the next election, that is what is going to happen. We guarantee a 24-hour turnaround.
