Denzel Washington speaks publicly about Will Smith’s slap

(CNN) – Denzel Washington spoke publicly about her relationship with Will Smith at the Oscars on Saturday night and what happened after Smith hit Chris Rock on stage.

Bishop D.T. Washington was the guest and speaker at Jacks’ leadership summit, and during a two-hour discussion about loyalty and his award-winning acting career, he was slapped in the face by the now-famous and asked what happened next.

“Well, there’s a saying, when the devil ignores you, you know you’re doing something wrong,” Washington says. The video of the conversation was posted on Jacks’ verified Twitter account.

“You know, the devil says, ‘Alas, leave him alone. He is my favorite. Do not bother him.’ On the contrary, when the devil comes to you, it may be because you are trying to do something right. For some reason, the devil caught the situation that night, “said Washington.

Washington added that he himself had prayed with Smith after the incident with actor and producer Tyler Perry.

“Fortunately, not only me but others were there at the break,” Washington told Jacks. “Tyler Perry came with me right away.”

Washington did not say what the three men talked about or prayed for after the incident.

“Who should we blame?” Asked Washington. “I don’t know all the details, but I know that prayer is the only solution,” he said.
