Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) legislator Maria E. Suarez Alcale took office with the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) this Friday, following the resignation of the former official party yesterday.
“We are working for a change with transparency and honesty. That is what we will do. We will work honestly for a better constituency. We will work with plans to continue to grow our community,” Suarez said.
Suarez is currently the vice president of the 3rd constituency in the province of Santo Domingo, and said he resigned after consulting the PLD with his family and political group because he understood that there would be more concrete organ change in the future. They are in politics, they act for the common good.
The inauguration ceremony was officiated by PRM President and Minister of Presidential Administration Jose Ignacio Polisa; Antonio Tavares, senator of the province of Santo, and Julito Bulgar, spokesman for the party’s delegation.
“We tell first-timers that this party does not belong to us. It’s not from the leaders or the political leadership, but from those who have decided to do a good job. I know Deputy Marisol will continue to do a good job for its constituency,” Polisa said.
The PRM leader added that the leaders of other parties will be sworn in next week, adding, “Do not feel represented by their parties, who are currently holding an elected position.
