To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science celebrated on February 11, the Pasteur Institute of Montevideo invites girls and boys between the ages of 8 and 12 to submit a drawing, participate in an art exhibition and win the chance to spend a day with a scientist.
The drawings should reflect the young artists’ idea of ”women in science”.
About 30 papers received will be selected, and their authors will be able to spend an afternoon in the laboratory, accompanied by a scientist. This activity will take place on Thursday, February 9th between 10 am and 4 pm.
That morning, all the boys and girls who send in their drawings will be able to come and take a tour of the laboratories.
Starting at noon, the authors whose works have been selected will stay for lunch with the scientists, and then they will go to the different laboratories to spend the afternoon doing various tasks.
