In a video shared on Twitter, the crowd can be heard chanting Kasthuri for several minutes.
San Francisco is home to Twitter, a platform the Tesla CEO bought for $44 million this year and has come under fire for its mass layoffs and less rigorous content moderation.
“Cheers and boos, I see,” Chappell said as Musk moved across the stage.
“You weren’t expecting this, were you?” Musk asked Chappelle, to boos in the background.
“Looks like some of the people you fired are in the audience.Chappelle joked, then tried to get the crowd excited again by saying the booing was because there were “terrible seats.”
However, the shouting continued for several minutes, during which Musk only said: “Thank you for inviting me.”

This Monday, Musk said in a tweet that “technically” he got “90% claps and 10% cheers,” though a viral video suggests otherwise.
“Still, it’s new to me in real life (but) gets shouted down often on Twitter. It’s like I offended the crazy leftists in SF… but no,” he added.
