(CNN) – The hit Netflix series “Emily in Paris” revealed at the end of its fourth season that its protagonist is moving to Rome, much to the surprise of many viewers. Now, French President Emmanuel Macron has weighed in on the conversation and said the country will “fight hard” to prevent the series from moving to the Italian capital.
“We will ask you to stay in Paris, 'Emile in Paris' in Rome makes no sense,” he said. Variety In an interview published Wednesday.

But despite his wife's connections to the series and its impact on tourism, Macron has no plans to make his own guest appearance.
“I'm less attractive than Brigitte,” she told Variety.
