The president, Louis Abinader, announced this Saturday the reconstruction and adaptation of the Plaza de Venders and the Plaita de Guayaques, which will have an investment of 111 million pesos.
The President pointed out that while leading the initial phase of the project, 16 “food blocks” would be created with all the necessary equipment, as well as roads and sidewalks.
In this sense, he noted that the reconstruction of this tourist destination should achieve two objectives in the country: “economic recovery and economic resumption”, as well as improving the status of the tourism sector.
“I’m talking about an example of this.
El Sogo Photovoltaic Park
On the other hand, the head of state gave the first deadline for the construction of the El Sogo photovoltaic park, which will have an investment of US $ 93 million and will create about 450 direct jobs and more than 100 indirect jobs.
During this installation phase, direct employment will be created with more than 500 people and from its inception there will be local staff including managers, technicians, operators and workers, he explained.
He estimated that the park’s production would exceed 130 gigawatts per year, which would save more than 53 million tonnes of CO2 emissions and reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels to generate electricity.
Led by PASS Corporation and Dominion, the project contributes to the country’s commitment to increasing its productivity in green energy, as well as to the Paris Summit’s guidelines on climate change and reducing carbon emissions.
