CaracasJuly 29 (Europe Press) – Several Latin American governments have called for transparency in the vote count in Venezuela's presidential election this Sunday, with the majority of polling stations closed.

The foreign ministers of Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay said they were “closely following the events in Venezuela” and that it was “necessary to guarantee that the election results fully respect the will of the people”. Venezuelans at the polls.

After the polls closed, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado asked Venezuelans to remain at the polling stations during the vote count. “We have fought for this day for so many years. These are important minutes. The final hour,” he said.
