High school students publish digital science and technology magazine – El Sudcaliforniano

La Paz, Baja California Sur, (OEM-Informex) .- With the aim of promoting science and critical thinking in the South Californian community, students, directors, teaching staff, mothers, fathers and tutors of Technical High School 24 of the population of Santa Rosalía, municipality of Mulegé, published the magazine “Mundo Científico y Tecnológico” on social networks, announced the director of Secondary Schools of the State Secretariat of Public Education, Rumualdo Ramírez Gutiérrez.

The SEP official added that the digital material consisting of 98 pages includes works that would be presented in the Eighth Edition of the Science and Technology Fair, which this year could not be carried out due to the sanitary confinement decreed due to the pandemic of Covid-19, among which stand out issues about endemic fauna and flora, the danger posed to our habitat by mining waste or plastics.

Ramírez Gutiérrez stated that the work carried out by the school community constitutes an example of the products of excellence that can be achieved when teachers and students, with the support of directors and parents, join forces and also make effective use of the information technologies that have been promoted in the distance education model.

The head of the Secondary level of SEP mentioned that the director of the campus, Aníbal Meza Peralta, is already working so that in the short term a second edition is carried out with the articles that failed to be published in this first edition, since this motivates students to continue doing this type of work that includes research aimed at living on a better planet.
