Steps to polish car windows with wax

  • First, find a shady spot, preferably your home garage, that doesn’t get too much wind and sun.
  • Start by cleaning the glass of dust and any dirt on it using soapy water. Let it dry, you can help yourself with a dry towel.
  • After that, it is recommended to use a glass cleaner to finish removing any remaining dirt or dust, and help yourself with a microfiber cloth.
  • Now find the wax, and start applying it as if you were removing a coating with wax.
  • Starting at the top of the glass, make small circular motions to add it over the entire surface until you’re done.
  • After you have spread it over the entire surface, wait for it to dry a bit and you will see how it becomes opaque. Drying time will depend on what kind of wax you have, you’ll see in the instructions, it can last anywhere from minutes to half an hour.
  • To check that the wax is ready to be buffed, use your finger to slide it across the surface and if it doesn’t stick to your finger, it’s dry.
  • To polish, using a microfiber cloth, start making circular motions without much pressure, and you will see how the glass becomes transparent. If the glass is already polished, it is finished.
  • As a recommendation it is advisable to use a water-repellent material, in this way you will avoid any splatter or stain and even slide to the bottom of the glass.
