India and France are completing defense and space projects

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Indo-French Association, the two countries agreed to highlight the direction of bilateral relations until 2047, which is the centenary of India’s independence, diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. of the strategic alliance.

In this regard, the two governments promised to cooperate in the joint development and production of defense technologies, even for the benefit of third countries, according to an official document released to the press.

Both countries will also expand their cooperation in the field of aviation with projects such as fighter jet engine development and operation of heavy duty helicopters under the Indian Multi-Role Helicopter Programme. [IMRH] and Safran Helicopter Engine, France.

With regard to the Indo-Pacific region, the two countries will expand their cooperation there with the support of the French territories of New Caledonia and French Polynesia and through dialogue with the United Arab Emirates, the strategic partner of both.

As part of the unique model called Trilateral Cooperation for Development, they will create a fund to support climate-related innovations, sustainable development goals and startups in the area dedicated to green technologies.
