(CNN) –– Jada Pinkett Smith continues to share details of her past relationships.
Pinkett Smith spoke out after revealing that she and husband Will Smith have had “completely separate lives” since 2016. coming out About her friendship with the late rapper Tupac Shakur.
Pinkett Smith was asked if Shakur, who was shot in 1996, was her “soul mate.” She said yes and talked about their strong connection.
“If there’s such a thing as a past life, I definitely think Beck and I shared some,” she said of Shakur, whom she befriended when she was a teenager and both lived in Baltimore, Maryland.
As for any kind of romantic connection, she said, “It’s not possible” because “there’s no chemistry between us.”
When the interviewer insisted that their chemistry was obvious to others, Pinkett Smith denied the claim.
“Friendship likes chemicals,” he said.
“It was like God made us that way,” Pinkett Smith continued. “It was like, look, I’m going to put you all together, right? You’re going to be a dynamic couple. But I’ll tell you right now that I’m going to make it so that you can’t be together, because that’s not the intention.
Pinkett Smith has been doing press for her upcoming autobiography, “Worth,” which will be released on October 17. In the work he writes about his relationship with Shakur.
In a new clip from “Jada’s Story – An NBC News Special,” Pinkett Smith recalls what happened at the 2022 Oscars. She said she was shocked when her husband Chris slapped Rock and shouted: “Get my wife’s name out there.” Your bad mouth!”
