Kryloff’s bat guides the duo to draw broomsticks in Oakland

OAKLAND — Alex Grilloff homered in the fifth inning and added a three-run double in the seventh to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 5-4 victory over the Oakland A’s to clinch the series.

Christian Vasquez joined the Twins for a three-hit streak in Oakland since July 1997.

Colombia’s Jordan Díaz homered, and Colorado’s Atléticos snapped a seven-run streak. Oakland (25-70) has lost 13 times in sweeps this season.

9,335 people attended the contest at the Coliseum, the 47th home game with less than 10,000 in attendance.

Minnesota trailed most of the game and trailed 3-2 heading into the seventh after Joe Ryan’s shocking start.

Max Kepler’s one-out single off JP Sears started the flip and extended his on-base streak to 14 games since July 2017 at the Coliseum.

For the doubles team, Puerto Ricans Carlos Correa went 2-0, Willie Castro 4-0 and Christian Vasquez 3-2 with two runs and a tov. Colombian Donovan Solano is 4-0.

For the Athletics, Colombian Jordan Diaz went 2-1 with one run and two RBIs. Cuba Aledmis Diaz 4-1 with RBI.
